Great Bend Fire/EMS

Great Bend Emergency Medical Service had four ambulance runs Wednesday, May 3, nine runs Thursday, 10 runs Friday, six Saturday and two Sunday. 

Firefighters received a callback to a previous fire at 600 Main and Heizer at 7:39 p.m., May 3 to extinguish grass and hot spots. They returned to the same location on May 4 at 4:25 p.m. to extinguish remaining smoldering material.

On Saturday, May 6, the department was called to the 2200 block of Cleveland at 10:04 p.m. for an unauthorized fire pit burn.

On Sunday, they responded to an alarm malfunction at 11:43 a.m. in the 8700 block of Sixth Street. They also responded to a carbon monoxide check at the 2900 block of 10th Street at 3:56 p.m.


Great Bend Police

A non-injury crash was reported at 3:14 p.m. Friday at 1721 St. 

A theft of a delivered package was reported 5:05 p.m. at 312 Maple St.

An injury crash was reported at 6:25 p.m. at 10th and U.S. 281 bypass.

Criminal damage to property was reported at 9:26 p.m. 24th St. and Quail Creek Drive.

A non-injury crash involving a Chevrolet pickup rear-ending a Great Bend Panther bus was reported at 9:30 p.m. Friday at 10th and Williams St.

Criminal damage to property was reported at 10:44 p.m. at 1717 Monroe.

A domestic incident was reported at 7:39 a.m. Saturday at 2006 McKinley.

Criminal damage to property was reported at 1:30 p.m. at 4919 Lakin Ave.

A burglary in progress was reported at 6:28 a.m. Sunday at 1811 Jefferson.

A non-injury crash was reported at 7:48 a.m. at 2201 29th St. 

Criminal damage to property was reported at 2:12 p.m. at 1806 12th St.

A theft was reported at 2:57 p.m. at 3218 Lakin Ave.


Barton County Sheriff

A narcotics violation was reported at 1:46 a.m. Friday at mile marker 106 N. U.S. 281.

A domestic incident was reported at 9:06 p.m. at 576 W. Eighth St., Hoisington.

An ATV crash was reported at 9:57 p.m. Saturday at the diversion dam, 463 SW 60 Ave.

A fire was reported at 10:11 p.m. at 1029 NE 10 Ave., Hoisington.

A domestic incident was reported at 6:49 p.m. at 503 S. Humbolt Ave. Apt. 8, Ellinwood.

Criminal damage to property was reported at 5:57 p.m. at Straub’s Power Sports, 200 Patton Road.
