drug raid 2025 hoisington

The Barton County Sheriff’s Office executed simultaneous search warrants in the city of Hoisington just before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9. Sheriff Brian Bellendir reports deputies executed warrants at 306 E. 5th St. and 315 E. 4th St. as the result of a drug investigation.

The warrant on Fifth Street resulted in the arrest of Jericho Hutchinson, age 42, who was reportedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. He was arrested and transported to the Barton County Jail without incident. He was booked on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine and distribution of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school. Hutchinson is being held in lieu of a $300,000 bond.

The search warrant on Fourth Street resulted in two arrests at the scene. Brandon Maxwell, age 47, and Kerri Maxwell, age 46, were both transported to the Barton County Jail. Both were charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school. Their bond was set at $300,000.

“The search warrants and arrests were part of an extensive investigation lasting several weeks,” Bellendir said. “There may be further arrests related to this investigation. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by members of the Hoisington Police Department and agents from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.”
