JETMORE — Two Great Bend residents sustained suspected serious injuries when a straight truck and a Chevrolet Silverado collided on Sept. 19 in Hodgeman County. Kansas Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred at 8:22 a.m. on K-156, 1.5 miles west of Jetmore.

Aaron Anthony Lari, 44, from Ness City, was driving the Sterling straight truck north on County Road 216 approaching K-156. Cain Villalobos-Hernandez, 34, and passenger Jessica Juana Villalobos, 40, both of Great Bend, were westbound on K-156 in the 2009 Silverado. Lari started to cross K-156 and the truck hit the Silverado, which came to rest on 216 Road, north of K-156. The Sterling truck was facing north and was across both lanes of K-156, blocking the highway.

Lari had no apparent injuries. Cain Villalobos-Hernandez’s injuries were believed to be serious and he was transported to the Hodgeman County Health Center. Jessica Villalobos also had suspected serious injuries and was transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

All three were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
