Great Bend Police Chief Steve Haulmark issued a news release Tuesday concerning two incidents that occurred Sunday, Nov. 10 in which suspects were arrested.
Around 3:27 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Jefferson St. in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, it was determined that a fight had occurred and during that fight, a female victim was punched and strangled. Juan Rincon, 22, was arrested for aggravated domestic battery and transported to the Barton County Jail, where he was booked in lieu of $20,000 bond.
The second incident reported occurred around 11:24 p.m., when a police officer conducted a traffic stop at 10th and Elm St. for an alleged moving violation.
“During the traffic stop, Barton County Sheriff’s Office K9 Menta was utilized for a free air sniff around the vehicle, during which she alerted to the odor of illegal narcotics,” Haulmark stated. “Officers conducted a search of the vehicle, during which they located methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.” Carrie Rajewski, 46, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. She was transported to the jail where she was booked in lieu of $10,000 bond.
