Kansas Highway Patrol reports a fatal traffic accident occurred just after 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, at the junction of K-156 and I-70 in Ellsworth County. A pedestrian was assisting a truck driver navigate a vehicle through a snowdrift-covered parking lot when he was backed over by the vehicle.

The pedestrian, Rudolph Martinez, 65, from Dodge City, was pronounced dead at the scene. Brandon Wade Adams, 44, from Bonne Terre, Mo., was driving the vehicle, a 2018 Freightliner pulling a trailer.
