STAFFORD — “The ability to learn language skills is greatest before the age of six.” – 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten.

We will be watching a video celebrating St. Patrick’s Day and creating a rainbow with Fruit Loops, We expect a little snacking as we work.

Renovating Nora’s Place and ensuring the integrity of its structure is an ongoing process. Scott Hoefer and his crew cleaned and restored the west window in the Children’s Room. This week they installed the beautiful restored window and took the north leaded glass window to restore. Part of the process is also restoring the wood frames around the windows. Also we had Eddie Blauha fixing damage on the inside east wall and painting this wall. While watching the paint dry, waiting for the second coat, he also fixed some other areas and replaced any stained ceiling tiles. Now we will know what are new leaks so we can take action.

With all the inside work, it was a good week for a surprise visit from former mayor/library president Julie Lyon. Julie was directly involved with the renewal of Nora’s Place. Sweat Equity, is something she was very familiar with. She has since moved on to other places and projects, but is still willing to help in our restoration. Thank you Julie.
