Republican Alicia (Schartz) Straub has announced her candidacy for the Kansas Senate District 33.
First Elected as Barton County Commissioner in 2014, and currently serving as Representative for the 113th Kansas House District, Straub officially filed for the Kansas Senate on Friday, May 29.
Straub is a fifth generation native of Barton County, where she and her family reside in Ellinwood. She currently serves on the Agriculture, Ag & Natural Resources Budget, and Local Government Committees in the Kansas House of Representatives. She said she will continue to strongly support: Pro-Life Values; 2nd Amendment Rights; Limited Government; Agriculture and Livestock Industries; Education Choice; Critical Access to Medical Care; and Well Maintained Roads & Infrastructure.
The 33rd Kansas Senate District includes: Barton, Edwards, Kiowa, Lane, Ness, Pawnee, Pratt, Rush, Scott and Stafford counties, as well as parts of the following counties: Hodgeman County: cities: Hanston and Jetmore (part); Townships: Center, Hallet (part), Marena, North Roscoe and Valley; Rice County: Cities: Alden, Bushton, Chase, Frederick and Raymond; Townships: Bell, Center, Eureka, Farmer, Lincoln, Pioneer, Raymond and Valley.
