ST. JOHN — The Stafford County Board of County Commissioners met on Wednesday, July 17, in the Commission Room in the Annex. Commissioner Wycoff called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. Present: Todd Wycoff, Jim Stanford, Bryce Garner. This report is from the minutes, which have not been formally approved.

Brooke Haulmark, Community Corrections, advised that the state had increased their funding, so she had a revised budget which she presented to the commissioners. Commissioner Garner moved, and Commissioner Stanford seconded, to approve and sign the enhanced funding for Community Corrections. Motion carried 3-0.

Commissioner Garner moved, and Commissioner Stanford seconded, to approve the minutes from the July 10th session. Motion carried 3-0.

LeAnn Russell with Grace Walk, met with the commissioners and gave them current information regarding the program.

Chad Fisher, representing the Kansas Water Users Association, met with the commissioners to discuss the Quivira Wildlife Refuge water issue. This group is working to contribute financially to augment the voluntary water reduction program being offered which is called Compensated Allocation Management Program (CAMP). This funding will be used to make up the shortfall of the funding from the state. Commissioner Garner moved, and Commissioner Stanford seconded, to allocate $50,000 to the Kansas Water Users Association to assist with the water leasing program for 2025. Motion carried 3-0.

Misty Rudy, EMS Director, gave an update regarding staffing changes and activity with EMS.

Commissioners adjourned to a budget workshop after the regular session ended at 11:15 a.m.
