Stafford Co. hears report on water policy

ST. JOHN — This report is from the draft minutes of the Stafford County Board of County Commissioners meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 21, in the Commission Room in the Annex.

Commissioner Todd Wycoff called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. Wycoff, Jim Stanford and Bryce Garner were present.

LuAnn Brister, Register of Deeds, came in to advise the commissioners that she will be ordering all new Platt envelopes. She needs new ones as well needing to replace the old ones that have become worn and cloudy. The $4,000 purchase will be made from the Register of Deeds Technology Fund.

Bailey Doggett and Maribel Tovar with the extension office came in to discuss what the process should be for someone wanting to rent the big kitchen along with the community room. The community room is rented through the County Clerk’s office and requires a deposit. If the kitchen is rented, it is booked through the extension office with the necessary deposit required.

Carolyn Dunn, Economic Development, met with the commissioners to discuss the meeting with the Kansas Natural Resource Coalition (KNRC) held on Aug. 15. Details of the meeting were discussed as well as the draft of the water policy resolution that the participating counties are looking at adopting.

Commissioner Garner moved, and Commissioner Stanford seconded, to approve the minutes of the Aug. 14 session. Motion carried 3-0.
