Schwein appointed Emergency Communications Director

ST. JOHN — The Stafford County Board of County Commissioners met on Wednesday, July 31, in the Commission Room in the Annex. These are the unapproved minutes.

Commissioner Wycoff called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. Present: Todd Wycoff, Jim Stanford, Bryce Garner.

Darren Reed, Solid Waste, presented a letter to KDHE to approve adjusted buffer zone distances for the landfill. Commissioner Garner moved, and Commissioner Stanford seconded, to approve Commissioner Wycoff to sign the letter. Motion carried 3-0.

Commissioner Garner moved, and Commissioner Stanford seconded, to approve the minutes from the July 24th session.

Commissioner Garner moved, and Commissioner Stanford seconded, to sign Resolution 2024-20 separating dispatch communications from the Sheriff Department into its own standalone department and appointing Gina Schwein as the Emergency Communications Director. Motion carried 3-0.

Commissioner Garner moved, and Commissioner Stanford seconded, to approve the bid from G & G Painting in the amount of $3,000 plus the cost of paint to paint the Salt Shed.

During the meeting Payroll vouchers and checks were signed from the following funds:

General: $201,006.06

Road & Bridge: 55,635.81

Health: 12,219.28

Rural Fire: 4,560

Noxious Weed: 4,315.92

Appraiser: 13,376.92

Solid Waste: 4,253.71

EMS: 36,419.76

Motor Vehicle: 1,957

PHEP Grant: 100

TOTAL $ 333,844.46
