The community is invited to participate in the annual Let’s Move Day (Made to Move) on Sunday morning, Sept. 15, by joining a walk, run or road cycling event. Registration starts promptly at 9:45 a.m. and events start at 10 a.m. at the Great Bend Seventh-day Adventist Church parking lot across from the Great Bend Trail Head on West 10th St. (7 SW 30 Ave.)

Signs will mark the 10+ mile biking trail. People can also walk for 2+ miles or run for 3+ miles on the Great Bend Trail adjacent to the church.

“By taking part in this event, we are hoping to focus on exercise that the entire family can participate in,” sponsors stated in a news release. “Come, breathe fresh air while enjoying the colors of fall along the Great Bend Trail on West 10th Street.”

This year’s event is sponsored by the Great Bend Seventh-day Adventist Church, Dr. Bell Razafindrabe and the Pain and Spine Clinic. Water and healthy snacks will be provided.

This event was spearheaded in 2010 by Michele Obama and has continued yearly due to a concern for childhood obesity. The entire family is encouraged to start an exercise program that will provide the best family time together. The community is encouraged to come, bring the family and enjoy a time of exercise together.

For advance registration or information call 620-792-2991 or 620-791-7314, or register at 9:45 a.m. the day of the events.
