The Salvation Army is looking for groups, organizations or individuals to serve as Bell Ringers for this year’s Kettle Campaign.

It starts Saturday, Nov. 16, at both Walmart doors. Ringers will also be needed at the big and little Dillons stores starting on Nov. 29.

Jennifer Vest, Barton County Outreach coordinator with the Salvation Army - Great Bend, said he needs the community’s help to ring bells.

“Even if it is only an hour (or a half-hour),” Vest said. “It does help more than you know.”

The funds raised are used for people in Barton County who are needing assistance with rent, a utility, medical care, medicine or supplies, Vest said.

“It is truly a blessing to have these opportunities in Barton County and I hope to be able to continue the sharing through many years to come. If you or a group or organization would be interested in volunteering you can contact me directly or you can go to https://www.registertoring.com/ and register as a volunteer and then pick the times you would like to ring and the location.” Or you may call Vest at 620-869-9447.

Anyone who knows a family with children that may not have a Christmas this year is encouraged to contact Vest to obtain an Angel Tree Application. These are needed by the end of the work day on Monday, Nov. 18.
