Trinity United Methodist Church of Great Bend will celebrate its 50th anniversary at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday with friends, family, food and worship. There will be a special worship service including members, past members, past clergy and a choir, including current and past choir members.
The church was established in 1968. The first service was held in the gymnasium of Lincoln Elementary School. As the church was being built across the street at 5700 Broadway Ave, services continued at Lincoln. The consecration of the newly built church was held Feb. 25, 1973.
