Trinity UMC observes 50th anniversaryTrinity United Methodist Church of Great Bend will celebrate its 50th anniversary at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday with friends, family, food and worship. There will be a special worship service including members, past members, past clergy and a choir, including current and past choir members.The church was established in 1968. The first service was held in the gymnasium of Lincoln Elementary School.April 27, 2018

Prayer in the squareSeveral local area churches are coming together for a community worship and prayer service in participation with National Day of Prayer at 6:30 p.m. May 3 at the band shell in Jack Kilby Square. In God We Trust at the CrestThe free program “In God We Trust” will be held at 7 p.m. at the Crest Theater next Friday and Saturday, April 27 and 28.On Friday there will also be a special presentation at 1 p.m., geared toward school children, fifth grade and up.All three presentations will be given by Stwephen Flick, Ph.D., head of the Christian Heritage fellowship, a national organization dedicated to reclaiming America’s Christian Heritage.Area churches have come together to sponsor this event.
