STAFFORD — Stafford County Fair was a fun time for all! The new building was a pleasure to be in and will be a great addition to Stafford County for generations. Many thanks go to the Stafford County Fair Board, the Stafford County 4-H clubs and their parents, and to people that bring their exhibits for this entertaining and educational week, always during a hot time in July.

At the end of July, Sandy will be taking down Nora’s Caves. She has guided literally hundreds of kids through the caves and it will be sad when this fun part of Adventure in the Library has to come down. BUT, you’ll never believe what she has in mind for Next Year! It will be colorful, educational and fun! Never a dull moment with Miss Sandy!

We have had two big boxes of DVDs donated to the library and Sandy is busy adding them to the card catalog. From the Fast and Furious to I Love Lucy. We have something for everyone.

“Our Town”  is the next First Friday, 6-8 p.m. on Aug.  2.  There will be free food. Deana Eisenhour and Jamie Downing will be telling us about the city’s murals, projects the city has in the works and ideas for the future of Stafford. Jan Turner will entertain us with music and there will be outdoor games for everyone. Pictures of Stafford past and present will be on display. This fun event was envisioned by the committee as an old time get together with friends. Come enjoy the last Nora’s Gathering of the season.

The Stafford School’s Back to School letter came in the mail this week. All of us at the library are retired school teachers and this letter always reminds us to squeeze every fun moment out of the remaining summer days. We are Trojan supporters that are thankful for those that are doing a great job educating our kids. Enjoy the rest of your summer and come back to school with  renewed energy and a love of learning!

Plans for activities in the fall are being made. Never a dull moment at Nora’s Place!  Come join us for good books, entertaining movies, and a place to enjoy the cool.

Next board meeting: 6 p.m. Aug. 14.
