University of Kansas Health System logo

The University of Kansas Health System, in collaboration with Great Bend USD 428, will offer free school sports physicals for the 2024-2025 school year for area middle and high school students. Free sports physicals for middle and high school students will be provided at a single event on a walk-in basis only from 7-11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, at St. Rose Medical Pavilion, Family Medicine, (Floor 3), 3515 Broadway Ave., Great Bend.

Complete the Kansas State High School Activities Association preparticipation physical evaluation form prior to coming in to minimize wait time. Students who wear glasses or contacts should bring them to their exam.

Sports physicals also available all summer

For those who are not able to make it to the free event Aug. 3, school sports physicals are available throughout the summer at the Convenient Care Walk-In Clinic and by appointment with the family medicine team at St. Rose Medical Pavilion.

Sports physicals are available without an appointment only at the walk-in clinic during regular hours, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Students age 17 and younger will need a parent to accompany them.

For those who prefer to see their primary care provider, sports physicals are available only by appointment with the family medicine team. Sports physicals are available for students of all ages, from elementary school through college.

The cash cost of a sports physical if no insurance is involved is $35. With insurance, the cost of the exam will depend on the deductible.
