Two bad drivers plus one patrol car equaled one drug bust, Wednesday morning in Great Bend.

Robert Krankenberg of Hudson was arrested after Chester, the Great Bend Police Department K-9, indicated the presence of suspected illegal drugs on his vehicle. He was booked into the Barton County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to Capt. Bob Robinson at the GBPD, an officer heard a report over the squad car radio concerning a reckless driver, and had actually stopped a car at Second and Main, coming into Great Bend at about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. But after stopping one vehicle, the officer watched a white pickup coming across the bridge. It was weaving left and right, and hit the curb three times, Robinson said. Krankenberg was driving.

Krankenberg’s bond was set at $100,000.
