Annual Eco-Meet was held at Wilson State Park

WILSON LAKE —Ellinwood High School student Tanner Swank on the Shortgrass Prairies Event at the annual High School Eco-meet. He now qualifies for the state finals which will be held in Junction.
Sixtenn middle school and 15 high school science students attended the regional Eco-Meet. Students were challenged in  different competitions where knowledge of Kansas’ wildlife and plants are tested.  Student have prepared for this challenge since the beginning of the school year.  Students studied Kansas animal habitats daily.  
Different competitions included; a scavenger hunt, eco-skits, knowledge on Kansas birds and shortgrass prairie.

Barton Community College Art Instructor Steve Dudek’s watercolor painting “Shirley’s Koi” has been accepted into the 37th Annual San Diego Watercolor Society International Exhibition in San Diego, Calif. The juror for the show is Katherine Chang Liu. Additionally, Dudek was asked to become a signature member of the San Diego Watercolor Society.
