Wednesday marked the last Barton County Commission meeting in its Courthouse chamber for at least a year while the Courthouse HVAC system is replaced. After moving chamber items, the commission reconvened in the Courthouse first-floor conference room for its study session. This will be the site for the meeting next week, but after that, it will begin meeting in the former JC Penny building at 1500 Kansas for the duration of the project. Also, the building at 1709 Main now houses the Barton County District Court and building at 1520 Main now houses the Barton County Attorney’s Office.
