Country music artist Jake Gill will kick off his Winter Jamz Concert Series with a free show at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, in the Barton County Courthouse square.
Gill will be joined at this event by St. John native Derek Staub, a rising star in the Midwest country music scene, and other Kansas musicians.
“I am excited to be a part of such a great event for a Kansas town,” said Gill. “We are anxious to continue our mission in aiding the many great non-profit organizations in my home state and the Winter Jamz Concert Series provides a safe outdoor environment for families to enjoy fresh air and sunshine while getting to hear great music from our friends.”
Throughout the last two and a half years, Gill has raised tens of thousands of dollars for non-profit organizations around the world. While there is no cost for admission to this show, donations will be accepted to assist local non-profit Sunflower Diversified Services. Sunflower serves infants, toddlers and adults with delays and disabilities in Barton, Pawnee, Rice, Rush and Stafford counties.
After a whirlwind tour across the U.S. in 2019 and 2020, Gill has much to celebrate as his much anticipated fifth studio album, “Maverick in Me,” has landed his sixth song on the Music Row Breakout Country Singles chart. It features 10 new songs and will feature up to four radio releases. One song, “Baby I’m on It,” continues to be a crowd favorite.
The Sylvia, Kansas, native showed no signs of slowing down with the first of 12 shows in his new venue home in Nashville, the famed Hard Rock Cafe. His tour this last season has taken the singer and his band to over 37 states and 180 shows.
During one of his last shows on the Maverick in Me tour in New York, Gill was fired up as the entire crowd learned the lyrics to his energy-packed single “John Deere Rockstar,” which honors the American farmer.
At the Great Bend concert, fans will also have an opportunity to sign up to win one of six pairs of tickets to Heartland Stampede.
