HHS Debate finds success

COURTESY PHOTOS The Hoisington High School Debate teams of Brayden Stevenson and AJ Schartz, Melody Braddy and Baylie Fyler took 2nd place in sweepstakes at the first-ever combined Central Kansas League and Heart of America League debate tournament on Friday, Oct. 11 at Sterling College. The teams’ combined records were six wins and two losses.

Hoisington then went to the Nickerson debate invitational with three teams. In the Novice division, Brody Rossman and Chance Mitchell went 2-3 in their rounds for the day. In the Junior Varsity division, Knoxly Nettelingham and Ethan Ney scored 1-4 in their debates. Brayden Stevenson and AJ Schartz took second place in the Open division with a record of 4-1 for the day.
