Heartland Farm, located west of Great Bend, will host its annual Open Farm Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Saturday.
Open Farm Day will allow visitors to tour the grounds and to participate in activities for both adults and children. These activities will include paper marbling, a community weaving, story times for children and the opportunity to walk the Farm’s alpacas while learning more about Heartland Farm and its mission.

Refreshments will be served. Open Farm Day is free to the public.
Heartland Farm, a ministry of the Dominican Sisters of Peace, focuses on the healing of Earth and of its inhabitants. The 80-acre farm is home to retreat and guest spaces, organically-managed gardens, three-miles of nature trails, a straw bale arts building, a flock of laying hens and a herd of 17 alpacas.
Heartland Farm is located 14 miles west of Great Bend. From 10th Street and Patton Rd., continue west for 12 miles. When the pavement end, continue west for one mile. Turn south on CR 390.
