Who knew Taxidermy would be such an excellent adventure. When you walked in the front door of the library you were greeted by a taller than tall Black Bear! AND the bear brought his friends!! Wildcat, deer, pheasants, ducks, snakes, a beautiful fox and many more. Josh Austin and Emmarie Ginest gave an excellent presentation on taxidermy, including mounting a deer head while they were educating us. Eighty people enjoyed the wonderful evening and a great supper.
Sorry you missed it? Next month you can come join us and find out all the Wonders Kansas has to offer, including live entertainment by Linda Hiebert, Adrienne Minnis, and Janet Hardin. Follow the Yellow Brick Road through Kansas Laser art by Shawna Duvall and find a feast prepared by the Culinary Class of Stafford High School. Let’s pack the house for all the local talent.
Monday morning Story Hour we will be reading “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle and painting beautiful butterflies!
Did you know that we have a new printing service called Princh? It is a service provided by a company in Denmark that allows you to print from your own device without endangering the library’s network security.
Sandy and I have just participated in a webinar from Denmark and refreshed our printing skills. Ten cents a copy makes it cheap for our patrons and it is a great way to provide a service for our patrons.

• June 6 - 6-8 p.m. - Barry and Meta West, Community Cookbooks From the Past. We’ll take a look at how community cookbooks can provide insight into people, places and time periods. Using Stafford cookbooks that span a time frame from 1926 to 1985, Meta and Barry find out how cooks of the past (many whose surnames you will probably recognize) not only filled a cookbook with recipes, they also preserved a record of their collective efforts to fund a new Stafford church in 1926. Meta, with assistance from Barry, will share ads from that same cookbook – testaments to the booming businesses that were thriving in Stafford. Feel free to bring any of your local/family cookbooks. Sue Griffiths will have a display of aprons and pot holders. Core will provide food for purchase.
• “Color Our World” Summer Reading program will be in June and July. Monday Mornings 10-11 will be our Preschoolers. Tuesday mornings will be K-2nd and Tuesday afternoons grades 3-5. Save the dates. We will again partner with the Summer Rec Program. More information later. Plan on Oceans of Fun!
