Seniors gathered on the front step of Great Bend High School for a class picture. Thursday was their final day of classes.

Seventy-five local and county scholarships were given out Wednesday at the GBHS Senior Awards Ceremony. A GBHS senior may receive only one local scholarship and as many county scholarships as they are awarded, so some students received multiple scholarships, said Lacy Wolters, ACT & Career Coordinator at GBHS.

“Through the local/county scholarship program, our students were given a combined amount of over $106,000,” Wolters said. “With renewable scholarships, this total is over $269,000. This does not include the scholarships students received from their colleges, organizations, or on their own. We are very blessed by this community!”

The GBHS Commencement ceremony will be at 5 p.m. Sunday, March 21, at Memorial Stadium.
