LARNED — A 46-year-old Garfield woman faces multiple felony charges following first appearance in Pawnee County District Court Thursday morning, according to the Pawnee County Attorney’s Office.

Pawnee County Attorney Douglas McNett reported that Rhonda Hudson-McNutt, 46, Garfield, was arrested on probable cause without incident on July 29, following an ongoing investigation by the Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office.

She appeared before Hodgeman County Magistrate Judge Kenton Gleason Thursday morning at the Pawnee County Courthouse on the following charges: blackmail; breach of privacy for disseminating nude images; identity theft; interference with law enforcement for falsely reporting a felony crime and falsely reporting information in a felony investigation and criminal false communication.

She is also charged, in a separate complaint, with misdemeanor trespass.

On Thursday, Judge Gleason advised Hudson-McNutt of her charges and possible penalties if convicted and her constitutional rights, including her right to counsel.

If convicted of the felony blackmail charge under Kansas sentencing guidelines for non-drug offenses, Hudson-McNutt faces between 11-34 months in custody of the Kansas Department of Corrections, depending upon her criminal history.

She is being held in the custody of the Pawnee County Sheriff in lieu of $15,000 cash or surety bond.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 14.
