United States Navy veteran Petty Officer First Class (ret.) William (Bill) O’Dell was awarded a Quilt of Valor from Golden Plains Quilts of Valor on Oct. 25, 2024 at the American Legion Post 180 in Great Bend. O’Dell served from 1981 to 2001. The quilt top was made by Millie Hill, quilting by Amy Schartz Mellor.
United States Army veteran Corporal Dewayne Strickland (ret.) was awarded a Quilt of Valor from Golden Plains Quilts of Valor on Oct. 25, 2024. Strickland served from 2009 to 2011. The quilt top was made by Margaret Evers, quilting by Amy Schartz Mellor.
United States Army veteran Private Second Class Marc Richardson was awarded a Quilt of Valor from Golden Plains Quilts of Valor on Oct. 25, 2024 at the American Legion Post 180 in Great Bend. Richardson served from 1999 to 2000, when he was medically retired. The quilt top was made by Balinda Ochs, quilting by Amy Schartz Mellor.
United States Air Force veteran Master Sergeant (ret.) Robert Ramirez was awarded a Quilt of Valor on Oct. 25, 2024 at the American Legion Post 180 in Great Bend. Ramirez served from 1956 to 1980. The quilt top was made by Linda Shull, quilting by Amy Schartz Mellor.
