Ellinwood High School is set to present its 52nd musical, “Honk!” The family-friendly musical will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, and Saturday, Nov. 16, in the EHS Auditorium. The production will also include a brief performance by the Ellinwood Middle School choir before the show begins.
Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale “The Ugly Duckling,” “Honk!” tells a story of acceptance with charming music and captivating characters.
The cast stars Brayden Robl as Ugly, the misunderstood duckling, while Ava Thill portrays his mother, Ida. Kellan Behnke takes on the role of Drake, Ugly’s father, with the supporting cast including Vivian Klepper as Maureen and Shelby Steffan as The Cat. Heidi Brauer rounds out the ensemble as the Bullfrog.
The cast also includes, Rylan Allen, Brandi Beals, Joseph Brauer, Emma Clemons, Kara Corbett, Clayton Davis, Brenna Detter, Madison Dombroski, Xavier Felder, Camila Frayre, Haevyn Freeman, Banks Jacobs, Bennett Jacobs, Mahra Johnston, Jocelynn Joiner, Joslin McCormick, Matthew Miller, Anna Prescott, Ayla Ritchie, Avery Schartz, Grace Sturtz, Makayah Trejo, Kynlee Wesner, and Kale Williams.
The following elementary school students also make a special appearance in the show, Landon Berger, Chloe Coleman, Allison Cook, Jake Fischer, Maggie Kern, Rozlyn Klepper, Beau Mason, Lyndsay Prescott, Emmett Salem, Landen Stromski, Addison Wesner, Quentin Wondra, and Paige Wornkey.
Tickets for “Honk!” are $7 and can be purchased at the door or in advance at the Ellinwood School/Community Library. The show is produced with special permission from Music Theatre International, New York.
