We would like to invite you to a very special exhibit. Eldon & Kathy Glaze of Larned have loaned us their collection of Dale Latta ceramics.

Dale Latta is a graduate of Stafford High School. Dale pursued his talent for art by earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics from Emporia State University. He worked as a teaching assistant in the graduate program in Ceramics at Fort Hays State University. He attended Colorado State University and earned a certificate in Art Education. Dale then shared his talent by teaching art in the four corners area.

Through the years he has painted big cityscapes, landscapes, collages of earlier works and of course ceramics. He has shown all forms of art in regional, national and juried shows. His ceramic art on display at Nora’s Place was done in the 1970s and purchased by Shirley Dale, Kathy Glaze’s mother.  Come enjoy Dale’s wonderful talent through the month of November.

From the stacks

I am recovering from my Kristin Hannah binge with some great titles by Tracie Peterson. She writes great historical fiction with romance as an added plot. She has many series that are easy to follow with your Kansas State Library Card. I have just finished “Knowing You,” the third book of the series, Pictures of the Heart. Pictures of the Heart books are stories of the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition of 1909 and the camera girls who worked there. Now, I am reading her series, Ladies of Liberty. This series takes place in England and America in the mid 1800s. The ladies in the stories were involved in women’s rights and the culture of the time.
