Clarification: Not all Barton Community College classes going online

Barton Community College has been fielding questions about its coronavirus response plan following the March 15, 2020 article in the Great Bend Tribune titled “USD 428 cancels classes; BCC going online after extended spring break.”

While some of the college’s face-to-face classes will be delivered online, others will be made available to students via online video (Zoom) or still others through other alternate delivery methods. One instructional approach does not fit all of the college’s schedules, campus and outreach locations, student groups and partner commitments.

As stated near the end of the article, “on a case-by-case basis, classes may still be held on campus depending on the associated risk and the nature of the course, with extra precautions taken.” These may include such programming areas as career technical education, customized training and/or contracted programs associated with partner memorandums of understanding.

Students should communicate with their instructors about expectations following the extended spring break.
