As costs continue to increase for many of our daily needs, local churches decided that school supplies are one added expense that can have parents struggling to afford as kids head back to school. Trinity Lutheran Church, Faith Community Church, Community Christian Church, and Encounter all decided they would like to lessen this burden for parents. With a collective effort these churches went together and provided 250 backpacks with essential supplies to go in each one.

These backpacks were distributed at Party in the Park. Because the weather hindered staying around all day, the remaining supplies were given to elementary schools in the area for them to give to children who were unable to get supplies.

Community support helped get donations and supplies. The churches hope to make this a yearly option for families.
