The Center for Counseling and Consultation, 1225 Patton Road, will host a Legislative Coffee from 2-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4. Executive Director Julie Kramp invites members of the public to share their priorities for the 2023 legislative session and help The Center promote high-quality mental health services in its four-county area, Barton, Pawnee, Rice and Stafford.

Kramp said legislators from The Center’s service area have been invited. As of Friday, only Rep. Brett Fairchild (R-St. John) had confirmed plans to attend. Sen. Alicia Straub (R-Ellinwood) and Rep. Tory Blew (R-Great Bend) are tentative.

“We are focusing on mental health issues including funding, Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Certification, partnering Community Mental Health Centers and CCBHCs with schools, and resources for placement for western Kansas,” Kramp said.
