Children enjoy play time at the Nora Larabee Library in Stafford.

STAFFORD — We have had a great increase in the number of people coming to the library each day. That has made each day very special to Sandy and me. We love meeting people’s needs: finding books, answering questions, making copies, using computers or just a nice place to play with your children. I have applied for several grants to buy more things for families to do together. I hope they will give us the money to meet the needs of families in Stafford.

We would like to thank those who came to our last Friday Night Gathering and donated money for new books. We received over $80 for new books! Thank you very much! Stafford is a very giving community.

As a side note to the community’s giving, I was excited to hear there are hopes of accomplishing a fun place to gather in the Stafford Mercantile building. Forward thinking plans are maybe a restaurant with pickleball courts and other fun things to do.

August 9th was National Book Lovers Day. South Central Kansas Library System reminds everyone to celebrate the joy of reading and the magic that books bring into our lives, and continue sharing Book Love with others!

We celebrate books everyday at Nora’s Place. A good book can elevate you out of your everyday life and release the anxiety of daily decisions.

We love the activities that we have incorporated into Nora’s Place to meet the community’s needs, but never forget the power a good book has to release you from everyday worries and stress.

Come see us at Nora’s Place, pick out a good book, stay awhile and enjoy our Cool Space!

The next board meeting will be August 14, 2024 at 6:00.
