Monday night’s Great Bend Recreation Commission Board meeting was the last for Andrea Bauer who leaves the board as of Dec. 22 after serving four years representing Unified School District 428. During the meeting, GBRC Executive Director Chris Umphres presented her with an award for her service.

Serving since January 2019, Bauer was also board chair in her last year. She has helped with GBRC strategic planning, partnerships with tennis court updates, Sports Complex turf, master planning at parks and playgrounds.  

“Andrea has a vision for recreation and has not only been a leader for GBRC but a leader in Great Bend. GBRC will truly miss Andrea as a board member but we know that she will continue to support what we do.” Umphres said.  

Colleen Newman will be replacing her next month as a school board appointment.
