The Barton Community College Instrumental Music Department will present its annual fall concert at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 12 and 13 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. The concert will feature instrumental music from across multiple decades.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Ushers will seat people according to social distancing guidelines and attendees will be asked to wear a mask when not at their seat. Attendees will be asked to reserve their tickets at bartonccc.booktix.com if they are planning to come to the show in person. The show will also be live-streamed from facebook.com/bartoncommunitycollege and Instagram.com/bartoncommunitycollege.
This year’s experience will feature the Barton Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, and new Rock Band performing some of the most well-known music from western history.
Director of Instrumental Activities Dr. Luis Palacios is excited to present this one-of-a-kind experience to Barton County.
“The audience should be prepared to experience this music like never before,” he said. “We are so fortunate to have been able to borrow a time machine so our audience can experience a musical journey and meet artists from several different decades.”
Dr. Palacios said the arts have a special place in society. This event will include music, fine art, theatre, and dance for an entertaining night the whole family can enjoy.
“The students and community members performing are excited to bring together several generations of wonderful music and are looking forward to breaking the laws of physics as we travel through time for an unforgettable evening of fun,” he said.
The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Dr. Palacios at palaciosl@bartonccc.edu or 620-792-9396.
