Community members gathered at Dry Lake Brewing in Great Bend for a recent “Meet the President” event, where they had a chance to speak with Barton’s new president, Dr. Marcus Garstecki.

Barton Community College will host three “Meet the President” events across the Barton County service area to introduce Barton President Dr. Marcus Garstecki to community members.

Dr. Garstecki will be available in the cafeteria at Central Plains High School in Claflin from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Sept. 25. On Oct. 23, he will make a stop in Hoisington at the Columbus Club from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Followed by a stop in Ellinwood at Gather from 4:30-5:30 p.m. on Oct. 30.

These events allow community members, local leaders, and alumni to meet and engage with Dr. Garstecki. Each setting will allow for one-on-one conversations and brief comments from the president at 5 p.m.

“I’m excited to engage with our communities in a casual setting,” he said. “These events offer a wonderful opportunity to connect with those we serve, listen to their perspectives, and share the great things happening at Barton.”

Attendees will have the chance to ask questions, offer feedback, and enjoy light refreshments provided by the Barton Foundation.
