Supporters of Sunflower Diversified Services raised more than $38,000 at the non-profit agency’s recent Charity Gala.

"This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and it was a tremendous success," said Connie Oetken, Sunflower director of development. "Those who gave of their time, money or talent can be assured that every penny will directly benefit their neighbors with developmental disabilities or delays.

"It is difficult to find the words to express our appreciation to the community," Oetken added. "Sunflower clients have trusted in the generosity of central Kansans for 46 years, and can continue to do so."

Oetken noted that special thanks go to the volunteers, Auctioneer Mike Niedens, Emcee Scott Donovan, the Pay N Putt crew, Highland Hotel staff, sponsors and auction donors.

Sunflower serves infants, toddlers and adults with disabilities or delays in Barton, Pawnee, Rice, Rush and Stafford counties.
