BCSO works injury accidents

The Barton County Sheriff’s Office responded to injury accidents on Monday and Wednesday.
At 4:11 p.m. Monday, Luis F. Espino-Gomez, 19, of Great Bend, and Lyle T. Stickney, 53, of Ellinwood were driving south on U.S. 281 near NE 30 Road. Stickney was in a Dodge Ram and was waiting to turn east when the pickup was rear-ended by the Chevrolet Equinox driven by Espino-Gomez.
Espino-Gomez was transported to Great Bend Regional Hospital with undetermined injuries. Stickney was treated and released at the scene. Both were wearing seat belts.
Nelson D. Adams, 51, Hoisington, was taken to GBRH following a one-vehicle accident at 6:09 a.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of North Washington. He was traveling south in a Honda Pilot and swerved to avoid a deer running across the road. The car missed the deer but hit a culvert. Adams complained of injuries from the seat belt as well as neck and back injuries.

Nazarene Church to hold car wash

The First Church of the Nazarene’s children’s ministries will hold a car wash from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, at the Great Bend Appliance and Furniture Store parking lot, 2301 10th St. Lunch of grilled hamburgers and hot dogs will also be available.Money raised at this fundraiser will be used for children’s camps, quizzing and other projects and activities.
