HUDSON – Trinity Community Church, located at 207 Highland Ave, Hudson, invites the community to its Mission Sunday at 10 a.m. on Sept. 29. This special service will feature two Kansas-born leaders, Shanae Holman of Topeka and Treva Williams of St. John, who together founded the non-profit Transformative Organizational Consulting (TOC).

Both women took very different paths before finding themselves united in the mission to support faith-based organizations across the nation. Williams, associate director of TOC, left Kansas for college certain of one thing: she would never work for the church. However, God had other plans, leading her to Charleston, SC, where she founded and grew the largest faith-based organization in the South – the Charleston Area Justice Ministry. Under her leadership, the ministry expanded to include 42 congregations and over 2,000 volunteers, serving a diverse community of Christians, Muslims and Jews.

It was during her time in Charleston that Williams connected with Holman, a fellow Kansan running a similar organization in Topeka. Their shared passion for community transformation led them to dream about creating a national non-profit that could help organizations of faith live out their values in practical ways.

This year, that dream became reality with the formation of TOC, with Holman serving as director and Williams as associate director.

On Mission Sunday, Shanae and Treva will share their powerful testimonies of how God has moved through their lives and work. They will also discuss TOC’s vision for supporting congregations and non-profits as they seek to improve the lives of people in their communities.
