The ‘grass’ is greener when you plant some
Larabee4030-3 boys
Three boys volunteered to pick up rocks for a project at Larabee Library in Stafford.

The building committee is getting the yard ready to plant grass. The old “grass” has been killed and they are preparing the seedbed. Part of that preparation included the removal of many small rocks. We had some fine young men from Stafford volunteer to hand pick the rocks. We are very thankful for Parker, Cashton, and Graede’s rock picking abilities! Thank you!

What do librarians do on the week-end? Well, this one had the pleasure of her grandson’s summer baseball beginnings. It involved Friday-Sunday at a tournament in Hays. I went with my daughter’s family and met my other daughter at the Hilton Garden Inn where we stayed for two nights, including part of a night without electricity due to the weather. Yes, some places in Kansas actually got rain! Not Stafford. We had a great time eating out, shopping and watching the Greenbacks play baseball. This is a Pratt team of 13-year-olds that have enjoyed baseball together for years. They ended up with MAJOR BLING for taking 4th in the tournament and 2nd in their division. Watching Josh play baseball is the ONLY reason I would be out in the freezing temp and breath-taking wind for two days! Our son John came and watched two games today and then brought me back to Stafford in time to write up this article.

I did get a Nora Roberts book finished and should have packed more to read but I hate the chance of leaving one behind. It was a nice start for a spring of baseball!

Luna has quite a presence on Google. Search Luna the therapy dog. Let us know if you have children that would like to read with Luna.
