Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! Due to a very generous donation from the Joy L. Fischer Trust, the Great Bend Public Library has been gifted 153 PBS memberships that will be available to Great Bend Public Library patrons. Each membership includes a Rick Steves combo gift pack and a one-year subscription to PBS Passport. Patrons who claim a membership will get the chance to pick from one of three pre-made bundles while supplies last. Bundles may include items such as For the love of Europe, Europe Best Destinations, Travel Skills, Travel as a Political Act, and The Story of Fascism in Europe Special.

The PBS Passport subscription grants access to extended programming on the PBS video app. The PBS video app is free to use for anyone; however, with the PBS Passport, members are granted access to a vast amount of exclusive content. To claim your membership, inquire at the main circulation desk to fill out a quick registration form. Memberships are limited to one per household. Completed forms will be sent by library staff to PBS for processing. PBS will email approved applicants to grant them access to their additional content. Please allow two to three business days after submitting your application to receive your email from PBS. Internet access is required to use this service, but remember, the library offers free WiFi! With your new PBS Passport, you will be able to access programs like Nova, Sanditon, Downton Abbey, Broadchurch, Poldark, Ken Burns films, and more. We are so excited to be able to offer this to our patrons and would like to say a huge thank you to the Joy L. Fischer Trust for allowing us the chance to bring such wonderful programming to our Great Bend Public Library patrons!
