The 2018-2019 Great Bend Pilot Ambassador is Sally O’Connor. Sally has been an active and passionate member of the Great Bend Pilot Club since 2009 and served as president of the club and in other leadership roles over the years. The club membership each year nominates and then chooses among its members one who exemplifies the attributes of a Pilot.

The member chosen as the Pilot International (PI) Ambassador must be active in an assigned role within the club; promote and support the aims of the Pilot International and its activities locally, nationally and internationally; be active in projects and activities that exemplifies the brain-related service focus of Pilot International; and be faithful in attending meetings and giving generously of her time to assist with the service projects and activities of the club. Sally has done all of this, serving for many years as leader of the team for the Barton County Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The club is a major sponsor of this event. She was also one of the leaders in the Autism Spectrum  Disorder workshop the club help last April.

International Foundation (now the Pilot International Founders Fund- PIFF) was established in 1975 to further Pilot’s humanitarian efforts. Since the Pilot International Founders Fund grant program began in 1977, nearly 1,500 grants totaling more than $1.5 million have been disbursed to Pilot Clubs for projects and activities they support in their communities.
