For the next couple weeks, I am going to feature our staff at Ellinwood Libraries, so you can put a name to a face when you come to see us. This week I introduce Karie Gibson and also provide some information about myself.

Karie Gibson is our Ellinwood Grade School Library Assistant and StoryTime Facilitator. She has been working with us for three years. Karie’s family includes her husband Michael and four children, Chase, Colton, Kimber and Cale. Karie doesn’t have a favorite book or movie, but she likes historical fiction. She enjoys attending her kids’ activities, reading, and crafts in her spare time. As far as working at the library, Karie loves seeing when the kids get excited about reading.

I am Sheri Holmes, the Library Director for the district and community. I was a teacher for my first 13 years in Ellinwood, and I am going on my eighth year as the director. My family consists of my husband Toby; daughter, Abby; daughter, Breanna with husband, Gunner, and their daughter Faye; daughter, Kylie; and son, Tyler.

My favorite book is “Out of My Mind,” by Sharon Draper, and my favorite movies are Disney movies. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, especially if sports are involved. My favorite thing about working at the library is the team we have that works so well together to take care of our patrons’, students’ and staff library/media requests.

We look forward to working with the students of Ellinwood Grade School and all of you at Ellinwood School/Community Library. We wish all of our staff, students, patrons, and families a great start to the new school year!

Sheri Holmes is the director of library and media services for the Ellinwood School and Community Libraries. She can be reached by email at sholmes@usd355.org.
