Love, laughter, and a touch of magic: Sterling High School Theatre presents Almost, Maine

Get ready to fall in love with love itself as Sterling High School Theatre invites you to experience the enchantment of Almost, Maine, a whimsical and heartfelt play by John Cariani, coming to the Betsy Dutton Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, March 28 and 29.

This production marks the debut of new Sterling High School Theatre Director Greg McGlynn, who brings fresh vision and energy to the stage.

Set in the fictional town of Almost, Maine, this collection of charming and bittersweet vignettes explores love in all its forms—falling in, falling out, and everything in between—under the magic of the Northern Lights. With humor, tenderness, and a touch of the unexpected, Almost, Maine is a play that will make audiences laugh, sigh, and maybe even shed a tear. This beloved play has captured hearts across the country with its mix of comedy, romance, and poignant moments, making it a must-see for audiences of all ages.

The production features a talented cast of 17 Sterling High students bringing these touching stories to life. Chris Childs and Kennedy Schmidt open the show in the prologue, interlogue, and epilogue as Pete and Ginette. Leland Britton and Jaden Jaeger portray East and Glory in Her Heart, while Trace DeShone and Reyna Sanchez take the stage as Jimmy and Sandrine in Sad and Glad, joined by Emmie Madden as the Waitress. 

Getting It Back stars Issac Dyson as Lendell and Macie Gillespie as Gayle. In the hilarious and heartfelt They Fell, Lily Henry and Sheperd Levy play Chad and Randy. Where It Went features Cooper Pieplow and Isabelle Bates as Phil and Marci, a couple facing unexpected revelations. Story of Hope stars Sophie Forman as Hope and James McGlynn as Dan. The evening concludes with Seeing the Thing, performed by Maddie Fales as Rhonda and Mason Lockhart as Dave.
