Not really sure what to say here. This band plays underwater. That's really all that you need to know. - photo by John Clyde

UNDERWATER Sometimes all a band needs is some kind of novelty that helps it stand out. KISS utilized elaborate costumes and Twisted Sister, well, it managed to stand out as well.

I even tried this with a really terrible band I was a part of in college. And believe me, we were terrible. But we thought that we could distract people from our lack of musical skills by finding an animatronic bear to play the drums. We changed the band's name to 4 Guys, a Bear, And Meg. Because we had four guys, one bear and a girl named Meg. Well, we couldn't afford the bear, and our dreams of stardom went down with our lack of musical knowledge.

This failed experiment is the first thing that came to mind when I saw this video of the band AquaSonic. This band plays underwater in giant aquariums and I thought to myself, "They must be terrible and that's why they have a gimmick." Turns out they're not terrible, but just happen to have a gimmick.

This video is weird and the amount of fingers on glass seems excessive, but its weirdness is overpowered by its uniqueness.

Enjoy this video of AquaSonic while I search eBay for an animatronic bear. I'm going to make this work.
