Learn woodcarving or test your Nick Cage Trivia
Book Nook.jpg

Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! This Thursday, Jan. 23, we have our regular Genealogy Thursday and Luna, as well as the Golden Belt Wood Carvers class at 6 p.m. and Nick Cage Trivia at Dry Lake, starting at 7 p.m.

For those of you wanting to attend the wood carving course, you can preregister to guarantee yourself a spot now on our website or come by on the day of. This is a two-week, beginner course for anyone interested ages 16 and up.

Preregistration is also open for Nick Cage Trivia on our website, or you can come by the brewery at 6:30 p.m. on the day of to register in person. This will be a fun trivia night with a mix of questions about his movies and about the wild man himself. Whether you are a fan or you just love to hate him, you have to admit he’s an interesting character himself with a lot of movies under his belt. Even if you don’t know much about the legend himself, you are sure to know some of the movies he has been in – just about everything – for better or worse. If niche Nick knowledge isn’t your scene, come enjoy a tasty beer and watch the chaos ensue. You are bound to learn something interesting!

Monday we have a new event for kiddos in the 6 to 12 age range. Come to Monday Crafternoon, where we’ll roll up our sleeves and get a bit messy as we get creative and learn a new skill. This month we will be making sunflowers through the medium of the noodle. Join us from 4-5 p.m. for a crafty good time. Spots are limited and will be first come, first served.

Story times are back on Tuesday, with Baby Bounce from 9:30-10 a.m., followed by Early Literacy Story Time from 10:30-11 a.m.

Wednesday, Tween Scene is back from 3:30-5 p.m. to give preteens a preview of the Teen Spot and its events.

Next Thursday, Jan. 30, we have our regular Genealogy Thursday and, of course, the fabulous Luna.
