John and Jenny (Thomas) Landers will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Sept. 21.

John and Jenny were united and marriage on Sept. 21, 1974 at Trinity Baptist Church in Hoisington. Initially they lived in Hoisington, then Coffeyville, and finally settled in Otis in May 1978.

John retired from the railroad in October 2014 after working there 40 years. Jenny retired from working as an office professional in 2017.

Blessed with four daughters, Jennifer Short (Chris) of Andover, Jeridy Oetken (Michael) of Manhattan, Jonell Demel (Phillip) Great Bend, and Jaimee Beckwith (Tom) Great Bend and blessed many times over with 18 grandchildren and two great-grandsons. Matthew Short, Emily Oetken, Jordyn Stukey, Bethany Oetken, Christiane Short, Karley Stukey, Breonna Landers, Chase Oetken, JT Short, Beau White, John Landers, Darrell Garza, Kendall Garza, Chad Beckwith, Morgan Beckwith, Cameron Beckwith, Kaydence Demel, Kynidee Demel, and Colt and Jackson Short.
