Kayleen (Hertel) Kern is celebrating her 80th birthday on Sept. 15th. 

She is retired from USD 428 School District. Kayleen married Jerry Kern on Aug. 7th 1965. She has three sons, Kevin (Kim) Kern of Olathe, Loren (Donna) Kern of Cave springs, Ark. and Brian (Dani) Kern of Lyons; five grandchildren, Dr. Chandler, Kylie, Taylor, Dalton, Jackson and a great granddaughter, Myla.
