July 5 is movie night at the library

Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! It’s almost the end of June, which means we’re already at the halfway point of this year’s Summer Library Program. Keep logging those reading minutes and mark your calendars for our remaining events so you don’t miss out!

Luna’s back from vacation, which means Thursday, June 27, from 10:30 a.m. to noon you can grab a book, sit down, and read to our fluffy friend. Time spent reading to Luna counts towards your summer reading goal, and you could win a National Geographic Kids Magazine subscription if you log the most time with Luna through the summer! Reading aloud to our Pet Partner is a great way for early and reluctant readers to gain confidence in their literary skills.

Working on filling out your family tree or have questions about genealogy? If so, stop by the Reference Desk at 11 a.m. for Genealogy Thursday to get started.

Next week we are taking our midsummer break from programming, with the exception of our regular Adults’ Night Out Movie on the first Friday of July at 7 p.m. The library will also be closed on Thursday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Need a read during the holiday? Our digital services are available 24/7! If you would like help getting set up with any of our digital offerings, stop by the library with your smart device and learn how to take advantage of this service.
