Julius Robert Scheck will celebrate his 90th birthday today.
Julius Robert Scheck was born on Oct. 27, 1929, in Walker to Andrew and Barbara (Vonfeldt) Scheck. On July 19, 1975, he married Gretchen Watkins. He is a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church in Great Bend. He and his wife have seven children, Diana, Debbie, Donna, Kerry Watkins, Kevin Watkins, Kemper Watkins and Shannon Bolding; and 10 grandchildren.
Julius was in the trucking business for 44 years, working for Felton Truckline in Russell coming to Great Bend in 1956; as manager for Knaus Terminal and then employed by Consolidated Freightline by Graves Truckline. He worked for ANR Truckline and Coast Pipeline as senior driver until his retirement in 1990. He was the Union Steward for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of Eagles Lodge #646 of Great Bend.
