About the speakers
Rob Schmutz
Originally from Abilene, Schmutz is a traveling evangelist and is credentialed through the Church of The Nazarene. As an evangelist, he has a passion for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and helping people find faith, hope, healing and deliverance through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a life surrendered completely to God’s Holy Spirit. As a pastor and evangelist with more than 30 years of ministry experience, Schmutz also consults with pastors, church planters, and congregations regarding local church growth, renewal and revitalization possibilities, and works with pastors, churches and communities in local evangelistic outreach missions and activities.
He has been a licensed Pastor with The Church of The Nazarene since July of 2015 and an ordained elder and a registered evangelist in the Church of the Nazarene since July of 2016.
Rob and his wife Angel live with their family in rural Reno county.
David Whitlock
Whitlock is the Men’s Program manager and classroom teacher at The Central Kansas Dream Center. He was born here in Great Bend but spent his life running from the call of God. In 2019 after an emergency room visit for a heart attack, he knew with everything he had done in his life, if he didn’t change, he would die and would not be in heaven.
“As an alumnus of the CKDC, I have experienced and once suffered life controlling issues,” he says. “But with God’s never-ending grace, forgiveness and healing, I have overcome! Now, I am honored to lead others who are needing help and willing to discover God and His purpose for their lives.”
Spencer Lindsey
Lindsey’s world radically changed at age 9 when his mother was taken from him because of cancer.
He started getting in trouble with small things and that grew to larger things. He wanted family so badly, he became a lieutenant in a clique. He started selling cocaine, but in doing so, he became a serious crack addict and a repeat offender.
But there was a calling on Lindsey’s life. In 1992, he had a born-again experience when he accepted Jesus Christ in jail. It was the beginning of change for him, but he still had the same mind set, soul wounds, and broken feelings.
Seventeen years later, on his fifth time back to prison, the Holy Spirit enlightened him to the passage in Romans 12:2: “but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” He made a conscious decision to renew his mind through the Word of God.
Today, Working Men of Christ has over 2,100 inmates enrolled in Lindsey’s correspondence courses.
They have four discipleship homes in four different cities in Kansas. He is a head chaplain at the Shawnee County Detention Center and is a mentor for the Kansas Department of Corrections. He co-authored “Nuggets of God by 12 Ex-Felons.”
Lindsey founded Crossroads Restoration Inc. in 2021 and has several outreaches.
